Conor Byrne & Friends

Dublin born flute player Conor Byrne is one of the most exciting players of his generation of traditional musicians. Greatly influenced by his grandmother Nancy Moore, and his mother Eilish Moore, who was closely involved with folk clubs such as The Meeting Place and Mother Redcaps in the 70's and 80's, he first explored traditional music through whistle lessons with his primary school teacher Con Ó Tuama. These, and the influence of his uncle Dabheoc Rynne, led to flute lessons with Paul McGrattan and Cian O’Sullivan and a significant meetings with the late Frankie Kennedy. He has been greatly influenced by musicians such as Seamus Ennis, Willie Clancy and time spent at the Willie Clancy Summer School, Liam O'Flynn, Frank McGann, Conal Ó Gráda, Cormac Breatnach and Matt Molloy.
